Anatoly Shapovalov was born in 1949. He studied at the Odessa Art School until 1966 and then graduated from the Ukrainian Academy of Art and Architecture in 1970. Having trained in the studio of Viktor Puzyrkov, he became a member of the Ukranian National Union of Artists and has taken part in numerous republican, national and international art shows including a 2009 solo exhibition at the Kirovograd Art Museum, Ukraine. His paintings are held in many private collections in the USA and Europe.
