Angela Findlay is a multi-faceted artist who alternates between painting canvases, working on mixed-media projects and speaking about art in prisons. Working with unusual materials from mud to cake her artworks and paintings embrace beauty and humour while trying to capture portraits of contemporary life through the most insignificant representations of reality.
Years of experience working as an artist within the Criminal Justice System have led her to question and challenge traditional perspectives and assumptions about those found guilty. In illustrated talks she draws on her personal insights and experiences to demonstrate novel approaches to tackling re-offending in a way that is highly relevant to current debates on prison reform.
