Chick McGeehan was born in Airdrie Scotland. Studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art Dundee 1971/75. Awarded post graduate scholarship commended by artist Peter Blake. He has won a number of prizes including the Miller Art Prize 2008 and has exhibited in Spain, Norway and numerous venues in Scotland. Chick has work in private collections in U.K. Germany, Canada, Norway, Belgium and Australia Examples of work in public collections North Ayrshire Council and West Dumbarton Council He is best known for his ability to cross genres with ease from his dynamic figure and portrait work to his Scottish harbour and Mediterranean scenes, all of which radiate light and atmosphere, combined with a keen eye for colour in the Scottish tradition.
