Stewart Edmondson is the quintessential plein-air artist. Whether it be capturing the hallowed aura of the beloved Devon forests close to his studio, the dynamic energy of the Cornish coastline, moonlight dancing upon a becalmed sea or the last displays of meadow flowers before they turn, he is never more at home than when in the great outdoors, brushes in hand and coffee flask in the bag. He takes great delight in the elements interfering with his creativity - a sudden squall or gust of wind taking the work in unforeseen directions. In all of Stewart's works, each a beautifully composed labour of love, his passion and respect for nature is clearly evident.
