Born in Sevenoaks in 1979, Anthony Garratt is predominantly a painter of the British landscape, his work concerned with capturing the impact of a landscape, the effect of the weather and the energy of the moment. His research time is spent in heavy weather, in remote locations and places that have a strong emotional force. He is a regular exhibitor at Art Fairs and at the Royal West of England Academy and has exhibited at RCA and RA. He was chosen as one of the ‘faces’ to promote Winsor and Newton’s range of paints and appeared on BBC2‘s ‘Show Me the Monet’. His first solo exhibition at Claremont in 2012 was a sell-out. He was chosen by the BBC as one of a handful of artists to paint the Jubilee Celebrations from the Millenium Bridge. His recent plein-air projects have been the subject of extensive media coverage including features on BBC TV, in the Times, Telegraph, Independent, Country Life among others and he was recently featured on BBC's Country File.
