1892-1963 Born Ukraine and moved to Poland with his family aged 7. He studied at the Warsaw Art Academy, and Munich Academy 1912-14 with Israel Paldi. He taught at a Hebrew High School at Lodz, Poland, but was so fascinated by the idea of emigrating to Palestine and living in the Land of Israel that he never finished the first school year and instead realised his desire and moved to Palestine later that year. He was an impressionist whose paintings have lyrical qualities that reflect his poetic soul. His first solo exhibition was held in Tel-Aviv and was opened by Meir Dizengoff (1925). In 1931 he went back to Europe for a tour, visiting Paris, Berlin and Poland and held some exhibitions there. Died 1963.
